CALIFORNIA MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

California medicare advantge has many parts and options of health coverage to choose from. It has  part A, B,C, and  D of the medicare plan.

Who qualifies for this plan?

Anyone who attains the age of 65 qualifies for the Medicare plan.

PART A, B, C, and  D  of the medicare health plan defined

PART A

Part  A deals with hospitalization costs and caters for nurses stays. Other than that, it also caters for your care at the hospice and skilled care for persons who are bound at the house. This cover however  does not cater for luxuries or other unecessary needs that you may have.

How it works

For the first 60 days admitted or hospital stay, you have no charges to pay. Your medicare part A cover will cater for that fully. For the next 61- 90 days still stayng at the hospital, you will be required to pay $296 every day,  while for the next  91-150 days you willl be required to pay $592 per day.The fee however is not the same if you are staying in a skilled nursing home/ facility. Here  the charges are  free for the first 20 days. Days 21- 100 get a charge of $148.

 PART B

This normally caters for doctor visit costs, medical services like diagnostic screenings, skilled nursing care, lab tests and outpatient care in clinics and hospitals.  All these however have to be within the US . The part B cover does not cover health services concerning preventtive vison, dental or hearing issues.

PART C

Medicare part C has alot more perks than the other parts. This is because it allows you to enjoy all of your healthcare needs, but are normaly covered by the private companies. It also allows you to seek medical care from a doctor and hospital that accepts medicare.

PART D

Part D usually assists you in taking care of your prescription costs. The plan requires you to apply when you turn 65. You however have the option of not applying for this plan  until the time that you find the need to. This will however force you to pay alot more for this plan than would have been required if you had applied at the age required.

This part of the cover however is only covered by private companies . You have the option of taking this plan alone, or as a part of the medicare advantage plan. This decision will therefore be influenced on your individual needs and also by the kind of medicare covers that are offered in your location of residence.
